As a Driver or Customer, you should always have as much information and very clear pictures of yourself, and your vehicle on your profile. The clearer your information is, the more jobs you get!

IMPORTANT: Drivers must be approved after background screening before completing this step. Also ensure you have good network connectivity, and do not hit the "back" button, or navigate away from the page, otherwise all the data will be cleared out for security reasons.

This one-time process takes approximately 5 minutes.

  1. Check for the Green Shield on the profile menu, this shows you have been approved to Driver, and now can access job orders and job order details
  2. In the menu, Tap on Connect Payment Details / Stripe. This will open the secure menu when you will enter your payment information to ensure you receive payment for your completed jobs
  3. Enter all your information in the required fields
  4. Drivers should enter their website url, Facebook, or LinkedIn url in the website field in the payment account setup form
  5. Do NOT hit the back button, or navigate away from the form, otherwise all the fields will be cleared. This is to protect your information for security reasons.
  6. Upon completion, you will be able to navigate back into the app and start running jobs!

As a Driver or Customer, Trust, transparency, and clarity is very important to us and the Phlatbed community. It's important for Drivers and Customers to set up their payment account to pay for, and to receive payment for completed jobs within the mobile App.

  • Once you sign up, you'll be prompted to connect to Stripe in the App Menu. Payment and Compensation are completed through Stripe, to ensure safety, security, and transparency. You only have to complete the Stripe Process once.

You install the App, then sign into the App. If you've forgotten your password, you can use the Forgot Password 
link in the App to reset/change your password. Then;
 1. Long into the App
 2. Go into the Menu (top left of the app page)
 3. Tap on Profile (1st menu option on top)
 4. Tap on the Edit icon (pencil in a yellow dot on the right of the profile page)
 5. There you can edit your profile, add information, pictures etc.

2. Ensure you are entering the appropriate characters, e.g. telephone number 11 digits etc.

3. Every action must be completed inside the app.

IMPORTANT: Always keeping your app running, and periodically checking it will ensure visibility by 
Customers. This encourages them to post job since they can see you within a 25 mile radius of them.

As a Driver or Customer, Payment is completed immediately after job completion. So it's important for Drivers to set up their payment account to receive payment for completed jobs within the mobile App.

You will not receive payment until you connect your Stripe account. Once you connect your Stripe account, you will be upon completion of every job.

That is the price they are initially willing to pay. As the Driver, you are not obliged to accept that price. Your Bid is the amount you as the Driver are willing to do the job for. Example, if the customer wants a desk moved and they put the job up for $100. Ad the Driver, you can respond with a $130 bid on the job. Drivers keep 75% of each completed job, so in this case you'll be getting $101.25 in that example.

Yes, the Driver will meet you where you are, whether you’re at an IKEA, Home Depot, Best Buy, or at Home, or at a tag sale. Wherever you are, the Driver will meet you there to complete the move.

Drivers get paid at the end of every job. No more waiting for payment cycles. It's very important for you to connect your payment account where you will receive payments. This would be your checking account. This can also be a debit card linked to your bank account where payments will be deposited into at the end of every payment cycle. Debit/Credit cards may take 2 days, but your checking account payments happen immediately you complete the job.

Here’s the short answer: Drivers earn 75% of every completed job. 

You drive less and make more. The more jobs you take, the more money you make.  
You get paid at the completion of every job. Funds are automatically deposited into your account.

For even quicker payment, you should set up your Stripe account in the App. This connects your checking account to immediately receive funds when you complete jobs.

Via Stripe, you can also manage how much and when you transfer funds into your checking account.

Every Driver is screened with a full background check including Federal, State, Local, and Driving history including criminal and Sex Offender Registry checks. We also verify their drivers license, and vehicle insurance. Safety first! You can also read their reviews, and ratings by other users.

You are always in contact with your driver via the chat function in the application. You can also see the gps route on the job as well.

As a Driver, having tools that make the move safer, quicker, and easier leads to good customer reviews. Some tools we recommend are;

  1. Handtruck that fits in your vehicle
  2. Ratchet strap(s)
  3. Furniture blanket
  4. Furniture dolly (with wheels)

These items help depending on the job you choose. Remember, safety first!

Yes, your Driver can pick items on your behalf at any of our Retail Partner stores. Once you select a driver;

  1. In the item description, specify it's an order at a Retail store
  2. Via the chat messaging function in the App - communicate your Order number, and Name to the driver
  3. Your Driver will provide this information to the retail store upon arrival
  4. The retail store may contact you to confirm if necessary
  5. Once confirmed, your Driver will pickup and deliver your item to your desired location

 

Every driver is cleared - Background, Federal, State, Local, Sex Offender Registry, Drivers License, Vehicle Registration, and Liability Insurance. Phlatbed disqualifies driver applicants for any violent crime, sexual offence, felony, drug related convictions that appear on background checks. Additionally, Phlatbed offers moving coverage on the first $300 on the value of any damaged item during a moving job, in addition to ensuring that both the drivers insurance carrier on file (and associated insurance industry notification databases) AND local law enforcement authorities are duly informed on every claim whether it be damage or theftor otherwise. We also carry a $1,000,000 business liability insurance.

No, Drivers are not Phlatbed employees, neither are Drivers full-time or part time employees. Drivers are  independent contractors, you make your own hours, time, and utilize your own vehicle and tools, in addition to choosing which moving requests to respond to or not respond to.

Ensure your moving job contains enough details for your driver. Expect your driver to be there on time once you have booked the moving job. Expect the driver to load the items, drive them to your destination, and unload the items. Also expect mutual feedback, so be nice to each other.

Drivers are only providing door to door moving services, some people call it curb to curb. Drivers are not expected to move items into your innermost dwellings. This is at the discretion of the driver, so be nice to each other

One way dispositions i.e. dump runs work the same way. Post the job, pick a driver, items are picked up, confirm, and provide feedback!

  1. Tap on My orders at the top of the app page
  2. Under the New tap, Tap on the order you’re tracking
  3. The real time Map View tracking will show you the order in real time with arrival time
  4. Tap on the Driver Note icon at the bottom of the Map View (this will pull up the Driver profile)
  5. Tap on the blue chat icon at the top right of the page to chat with your Driver in real time

You are always in contact with your driver via the chat function in the application. You can also see the live GPS route on the job as well.

  1. Once a Customer accepts the Drivers Bid on an order
  2. Driver MUST tap the green arrow button at the top right of the order approval screen to start the order
  3. This commences the route
  4. This also enables real time communication between Customer and Driver via in-app chat

Use your own vehicle, make your own hours, drive less and earn more. You don’t need to drive thousands of miles to make money! Plus...you’ll be part of an awesome community, who doesn’t like that?

  1.  As a Driver - Tap the Find Order Button - this will display new orders near you in List view or Map View
  2.  Tap any of the Truck icons (order icon) for additional order details, or tap any orders if in list view
  3.  On the order details page, tap the truck icon on the top right to bid on the order
  4.  This sends your information to the Customer! Upon acceptance, you will be notified!
  5. You can check the notifications tab for messages and alerts as well

As a Customer - Once you post a order, it goes live immediately. Drivers near you will immediately see your posting, and will respond on the spot! You will then select which Driver you want to complete the order, upon completion, you provide feedback, job done!

You name your price! I.e. how much you’re willing to pay for moving help. We have kept it simple! This way you know exactly what your budget is to get your item from point A to point B. It’s that simple! Drivers will respond along the price you put forward, and you select which driver is the best match for your request.

Clear pictures and as much information on your order will get you good responses. Drivers want to know as much as possible about your order before responding. Include as much details as possible, good pictures are very important!

Editing your profile is easy. At the top right part of the page, after signing in;

  1. Click on your profile image
  2. Click on Edit Profile
  3. Update as necessary

Notice: While you may be able to update parts of your profile, other areas will require you reaching out to us to change. Particularly for Drivers. This may prompt a new background screening process, depending on the impact of the change. If you signed up using Facebook, ensure your Facebook name matches what is on your legal documents.

Profile photo

Your photo is your main introduction. We recommend you upload a handful of photos of you and your vehicle. This will be the vehicle you use on every moving job if you are a driver. For Customers, this is the photo your driver sees when picking you up. Please ensure clear photos to ensure clarity and familiarity when the driver arrives to help you move your item!

If you signed up with a Facebook account, your profile photo is the same as your Facebook photo by default. Whether you created your account with a phone number or Facebook, here's how to change your photo:

  1. In your Dashboard, tap your profile photo in the top left corner
  2. Click the “Choose File” button'
  3. Click which picture you want as your Profile Photo.
  4. Click  Open, If you are on a mobile device, use your gallery, or take a live picture
  5. That's it!

Name

Only your first name is shown to drivers. Drivers never see your last name.

Facebook login: Your name is the same one on your Facebook account. Change your name in Facebook to update your name in the app.

Email address

Your email address is where we send your ride receipts and confirmations.

Facebook login: Your default email is the same as your email address on Facebook. Tap 'Settings' in the app to change it.

Phone number login: Change your email address in the 'Settings' tab.

Edit your payment info in the 'Payment Details' button on your profile dashboard after logging in.    Update using the PAYMENT DETAILS button

       Helpful Tips

Look at the Driver’s quote and profile since you will receive multiple responses for orders.Take a few moments to compare profiles, ratings, reviews etc before selecting which Driver you want to help you complete your order.

Look at the Customer's profile and Job posting.

As a Driver, you should also look at the Customer's profile, job posting details, and Customer reviews.

Reviews are important!

Driver and Customer reviews offer valuable information on their timeliness, accuracy on profile details (vehicle), performance, communication, and quality of work after the order is completed. Since every Driver is screened and their backgrounds cleared before being eligible to respond to orders, Customers also provide additional feedback beyond the safety and eligibility screening. Drivers also provide feedback on Customers as well, so it’s a complete ecosystem of mutual feedback loops!

Pictures are always worth 1,000 words.

Quality pictures are important, both on your Driver profile, and as a Customer on your profile or on every order job posting. Quality pictures elicit good responses, people are more likely to take action when the presentation is carefully managed.

Use Sound Judgment!

Do not automatically select a Driver with the lowest price. Also, do not automatically select job postings with the highest price. You may want to look closely at the job, profile, responses, and reviews before responding or initiating communication.

Immediately get help if you feel unsafe, or have any kind of trouble. Call 911 first and always!

If any issues arise while your order is in process, resolving it with the Driver or Customer is usually successful. If this does not work, contact us as well!

Driver Requirements
 Be at least 21 years old.
 Pass online DMV and background checks.
 Use either a laptop or a mobile device (an iPhone or Android smartphone)
 Reside in the State where you intend to drive

Vehicle Requirements
 Meet your city’s vehicle age requirement
 Have a truck (pickup), SUV, VAN in good condition
 Legally registered in State on Drivers License
 Legally and currently insured (provide proof)

Document Requirements
 Have a US driver’s license for at least one year.
 Provide proof of insurance, and (in most cities) a car inspection.
 Submit a photo of yourself.
 Submit Photos of your vehicle

Again, Trust your Gut! No one is going to move a couch from New York to San Francisco for $20!
